It has been awhile & I am so sorry. I got behind on mailing out packages but have only three left to get out. Will try to get one out tomorrow & the other two next week. I am frustrated by that.

I am alive & I am so thankful for that. I am recovering from a car accident that has left my back so sore that I just sit. Too much activity means I have to take my pain medication which means sleep. Sleep is not what I like to do. I did not hit anyone but I almost ended hitting on coming traffic on a divided highway. It was raining really hard & I hydroplaned on the road ended up in the median of the road. Lucky we had four wheel drive or I think I would still be stuck there today. Not good. The only fatality was a really big crawdad. We did not eat it though.

Now life is going on. We were blessed to see some updated pictures of our granddaughter that we are not allowed to see right now. We pray each night that we can someday be blessed by being able to see her. We love her deeply & are hurt that our ex-dtr in law will not let us see her. It is not fun in life to have to hurt so bad, but God is blessing us richly.

The New Dishcloth Calendar is out for pre-orders. I am going to pre-order mine soon. I want to get one this year! The 2009 Calendar can still be ordered for download only. Go to their site & check it out. There are 38 patterns in all in this calendar from many talented people. Janet Nogle does a good job putting it together, getting others to send in their patterns. The site address is: http://blog.dishclothcalendar.com/ I hope you will visit the site & order a calender. You will be in for a treat if you do. This site also gives you the blogs of the contributors & others that have helped Janet w/the calender I believe.

I do hope you continue to follow me. I will try to be more diligent in updating the blog, leading you to interesting sites, free knitting patterns, etc.

Have a blessed day as I have. I have gotten my yarn out to sort through it, restock it and mail what I will not use to some wonderful people who contacted me re: my yarn. Tonight, though, while watching Doc then the President, I was knitting up some fun fur into a scarf. Although, she is only 21 months, she went to my yarn, picked up a ball & some needles, trying to mimicking me knitting. I sat in my chair with her helping her 'knit', by casting on some stitches, showing her how to bring the yarn over & the needle through. Although she lost interest quickly, she tried her hardest to 'knit like her Nana'. I forgot how fast they imitate their surroundings. I forgot how easily you can influence these wee ones at this stage in their life. I hope I have put a little bit of desire in her to want to knit in the future. What a blessing I received from the simple love of my grand-daughter, who so innocently wanted to knit like me. I look forward to the day that I can teach her how to knit, really knit scarves, dishcloths, and such.

My friends granddaughter was here from Florida, soon to be 13. She learned how to knit simple scarves, hats in the past week. She wanted to knit like her Nana. I gave her a copy of a one hour hat pattern. It is free from the Internet. She left today with four scarves and two hats she knitted in one week. She is smart enough to find help sites on knitting to learn how to knit other stitches, from which she can expand her knitting techniques. She will be a good knitter someday. It will not surprise me if she does not learn how to design her own patterns one day. She was so excited. I truly look forward to the day that I can treat my granddaughter how to knit. What fun we will have, what fun we will have.

Good Night for now. I am going to get all my boxes ready to send tomorrow, getting them in the mail hopefully tomorrow afternoon. God's Blessings and Happy Knitting. We had a wonderful Domino party on the 4th of July, after a wonderful cook-out. We saw from a distance some beautiful fireworks. They lit up the sky with red, white & blue. What a wonderful way to honor the United States of America, as well as those who serve & give their lives for our freedom. I think of brother, born in Oklahoma, buried in Arlington Cemetery, honored there for giving his life for this country he loved so much. I smile with pride as I think of my gggrandfather, gggrandfather, my father's & two sons who have given their time to serve this country. I gladly salute you & all of you out there who are knitters, crocheters, who have served this country in so many ways. You are honored here this month.

Well, it has been a few weeks since I post last. I hate that is has been so long! My dear hubby & I have been going through our closets trying to decide what to keep, what to sell, what to throw away. Have you ever had to do this? Well, while going through our closets, I found several skeins of yarn that I would never use. I don't like the way it feels, the colors etc. Also, I found a book called 'Can't get enough SCRAPS' 26 favorite Scrap Projects for those who like to CROCHET. Since I do not like to Crochet. I am going to notify my knitting sites of this fact, of the crochet book I have found, the yarns. I love knitting, most yarn comes from sheep or is man made. However, sheep don't seem to be as cute to me. However the below I found on a knitting blog & decided to borrow the concept, not the answers. The answers below are mine. If you want to see the original author's answers you can go to her site noted below. Enjoy & answer them yourself on your blog. Let people see a little more about you, maybe even laugh at yourself some by your own answers. If you can make someone else laugh or enjoy life a little more, then you have blessed them more than you ever will know. She uses them to give to her students as she teaches them English using the Bible. She has done this for 10 years or longer. I have knitted her heavy ones, light ones along with some my cousin-in-law has knitted & gave to send to her. Her mother is leaving in July & has offered to take them to her, so I can save money from not having to mail them myself. People are so generous in my life. I am so thankful for the help I have gotten in my knitting charity, along with a new charity I joined myself. It is called Bluebonnet Babies. I am excited about being a part of this group. I am hoping I can knit up to their ability. I do enjoy kitting & will hopefully be able to knit simple baby blankets for the preemies they give to. I don't know how to knit clothing yet, but I do believe that I can knit a hat for preemies if I try.

I hope all of you that love to knit, especially for those who love to knit for charities will look this charity knitting group & consider joining in their cause. It a group from Texas, so those in Texas would be a great help to this group. I am going to do my best to join up in the cause. It had a One Hour Baby Hat knit pattern on it, free. It is a fun hat I think. On this site, the individual has a seperate site where they sell their own hand dyed wool. From what I have seen so far, the hand dyed wool is beautiful. I am going to look at their site where I can view more of the hand dyed wool. I will put a picture of the One Hour Baby Hat found at http://www.calanacrafts.blogspot.com/. Also, even though they are found in Scotland, here is the site for their hand dyed wool http://www.calanacrafts.co.uk/ . Have a look at this blogspot. It is interesting. Here is a picture of the hat they created.

I really liked the hat on the bear. I looks really good. I am glad I found this blogspot. Go by and visit their sites. You might even want to order some of their hand dyed yarn. I am however, knitting scarves for a friend of mine who teaches English through the Bible in a country overseas. Where she is living, it gets cold in the winter, so I decided to knit scarves she can give to her students. I am even knitting some scarves she can give to her students that can be worn in fall and spring, light weight, etc. I hope to take photos of them, putting them on the Internet. I really like using ribbon yarn for the light weight scarves. I usually make dropped stitch scarves with the ribbon yarn.
My other knitting love is dishcloths. There are so many new patterns out there, new designs that are coming out, some free, some being given out in my groups monthly & mid-monthly KALS. I enjoy these KALS as I learn new stitches through them.
Hopefully, I will learn to knit socks & clothing one day. I hope I will just overcome my fears, overcome my timidness & just try to knit them. The only way to learn try, even if I have to 'frog' a few times. My on going knitting's is a prayer shawl & a lapghan. The lapghan is a crochet which I am also just learning to do. I will complete it one day, hopefully before the cool months return. I want to use it this year. I will keep you posted on my progress.
Well, I will close for now. God's Blessings & keep on knitting-for yourself, for others, for gifts to give at birthdays, Christmas, for no reason at all. Just keep learning what you can, making new designs as you. I have. I have found though, as many knitters have, that by pulling out your knitting, start knitting, a behold~you relax, your mind is at ease~your sanity has not been lost. Now you don't have to go look for your lost sanity. It is still there!
Many times I feel so much better if I 'frog' while knitting, having to tear out my knitting as starting over again. It seems that by 'frogging' you can release your frustrations out on your yarn, not on your self or on some unsuspecting friend or loved one.

Your yarn is very forgiving, very loving, not really aware that by your 'frogging' it has just been the receiver of your frustrations for the day. Your yarn, which never really did anything to you, gladly accepts your 'frogging', because 'despite popular belief' your trusted friend, your yarn does not have feelings, it just needs to be treated with some respect.

'Frogging' is a life saver to many of us-no matter what gender. Because, we who control what we do with our yarn, it always, well almost always, follows our needles to be made into what ever we desire it to be, with little to no protest of what it is being used for. It could be a sweater, a scarf, a dishcloth, table cloth, bedspread with out any protest from the yarn itself.

Once in a while however, our yarn gets a mind of its' own, when it tries to tangle itself up, which in turn causes our frustration to increase as we untangle the yarn, that so rudely tangled itself up! It becomes a battle of wills, yours or the yarn. I refuse to let the yarn win! While working until my fingers hurt, getting the last knot & tangle out. I will not let the yarn win by making me put it aside, using another skein of yarn to make my project up with. The yarn will eventually fall in this battle, not me. Besides, I do feel victorious when I get the final tangle & knot out. How about you?

Isn't knitting fun, challenging, yet a great way to release our stress! Despite the setbacks, the 'frogging', the dropped stitches, misread, misunderstood patterns, KNITTING is a blast. Knitting is a great way to relax after a day of being a mom, secretary, dietitian, nurse, judge, therapists-what a way to take care of your self. Hope you have fun knitting today!

When Is Your Country Fair?

When is your country fair? Ours, that is the one in Searcy, is coming up in Sept. I am hoping to enter some of my knitting. I am hoping to enter a few dishcloths of different styles, a scarf or two, & maybe my one hour hat. Maybe, I might just go slow & knit a dishcloth or two & a scarf. I just want to be able to enter the fair this year with a knitting project or two, since I have not been a knitter that long. I am proud of my ability to knit-not in a 'I better than you way' but just proud I was able to learn what I have so far. Is that okay? I think it is......

So when is your County or State Fair? What of your knitting or other crafts are you going to show at them? I know that there are many knitters out there, so share what you are going to show or have shown at your County or State Fair. There are so many talented knitters that I have seen in my Yahoo Groups I am in, I can see many of them showing their knitting accomplishments to others-I am excited to hear from everyone. Good luck as you enter, God Bless you for sharing your talents with others. Have a happy weekend!!!!!

I have been gone too long......

It has been too long since I have been here, talking about my knitting & such, but I have been sick, along with family members having struggles-to the point of keeping me so busy I can hardly do anything. I have finished three, no four exchanges-some late but are going out on Monday. That relieves some pressure off my shoulders & mind.

I wanting to knit for myself-doing some catch up on-just to knit for myself some things I want to knit, getting ready for Christmas gifts and all. I am going to give some to family and friends-surprises, as I found some really neat patterns to knit. I love the Christmas Season-the giving of gifts, that's what live is all about. Give to those, expecting nothing in return--Christmas is so much fun! How many of you love Christmas-knitting up surprises for family-enjoying the faces of surprise--the sounds of ooooh-aaaaaaah! Not only do I love the giving-I love the season itself-the decorations--decorating the tree--the house--seeing the kids {even the adults}--as the watch the lights turn on in their homes-at the parade-in the parks-even on the carriage ride. How can you not like Christmas?
I hope you enjoy knitting & making your own gifts-creations. Life is to short not to enjoy what you like to do as a hobby-or your work so you can stay home with your family. Keep it up and enjoy!!!!

Getting ready!!

Well, I am getting ready to make more stitch markers tomorrow. I am waiting for beads from a company I ordered via the Internet. I can't wait to get them! I love making the stitch markers as they are a way to use your creative juices. I bought some new needles to use-copper in color that I have never used before, but they will add such a wonderful touch to the markers. I am so excited to see how they look. I guess I will know tomorrow. I am finishing two new dishcloths in the next day or two, as well as sending out the round robin box so I can continue with it. Hopefully, I can & will become busy as a bee-getting all caught up on my exchanges, even those not due yet. I am waiting for a few glass beads to finish one, finally got the addresses I misplaced to mail out some exchanges. I love making and exchanging stitch markers with others, as I like to surprise them & be sur- prised by their gifts. They always come when I least expect them, brightening my days when I need it most. I have sites that can help you learn how to make stitch markers yourselves, can show you pictures of ones I have received or have made. Leave me a comment with your e-mail or e-mail me at: jilwoodruffpulley@hotmail.com if you want me to send you the information. The picture above was taken in Taney County Missouri. Other than the Ozarks, I fell in love with the Smokey Mountains. They were breath taking, more so when shown in the modern day movie of "The Last of the Mohicans". My d/hubby and I are looking for places that we could retire to somewhere in the Ozarks or the Smokey Mountains.
I want to retire around Branson, MO if possible, mainly b/cause of the entertainment it has all the music-mountain, bluegrass, as well as, all the musical shows in Branson, that one would ever want besides being up in the Ozarks. When we visit Branson I never want to leave-it is one place that I can stay & feel a peace I find no where else. It is a place that is close to God-an area that we can be encourage in addition to encouraging others.
The land and Ozarks are beautiful, beyond words, & at Christmas time, it turns into a fantasy land beyond all imagination! There is so much peace in these mountains, so much time to just sit back and think-to pray-to listen for God's words to touch your heart, soul & mind.
I dream of sitting on my front porch, sitting in one rocking chair while my husband is in the other, playing his guitar and singing to me as tho' time had not passed and we were young, my listening to him sing, playing to his hearts' content-& man can he play and sing still today. I love my husband dearly-even after 30 years and age is starting to take over and show. He still thrills me to my soul, loves me as we have never loved before-as our love grows as each day passes. May each of you be as blessed as I have with the most wonderful husband God could create.

Greetings and Welcome

Ahh! Welcome to my new blog spot. I am going to still follow my general way of blogging as I did on my other blog spot. I want to use this blog spot as a way to encour-age my visitors with their knitting, their struggles, with life with good ol' fashion Southern Hospitality. Life is too short not to help others who need help, encourage those needing encouragement, bringing joy and hope to all who are searching for it. I also want to help knitters who are just learning by offering help sites, sites with other blogger's that can help them, including my groups on Yahoo. I hope you will come to visit often, correct me if I am wrong, get encouragement when you need it, or just to have fun when you want it. May this site be a blessing to you all, as Jesus my Lord is a blessing to me daily. You all are a blessing to me, those who visit w/out leaving a comment and to those who do. You will never know how much I am encouraged and up- lifted by all of you. Come and visit often as I will be adding daily to my site. If you have any questions at all, please e-mail me at jilwoodruffpulley@hotmail.com or by leaving a comment with your e-mail address to respond to you. I will help you as best as I can whether it deals with knitting or questions about my disability, etc.
